Having gone through some ups and downs in her life, Dua’a has never given
up on independently establishing a small business. Back then, Dua’a started
making natural soaps and other skincare products, but unfortunately, her
business failed since she started having allergic reactions to some of the
ingredients she was using. At that point, Dua’a gave up and stopped trying to
create her dream. During the pandemic, Dua’a began hand-knitting blankets and
quilts; at first, she didn’t consider turning it into anything professional,
but when her husband lost his job due to COVID-19’s negative repercussions, Dua’a decided to evolve her newly-learned hobby into a business. With time, Dua’a began generating a small income and realized the positive change this business
impacted her life. On a personal level, Dua’a confidence was boosted
through the handmade blankets and quilts she has been designing. She believed
she can accomplish so much more with her skills and expand her handmade
business to be able to financially support herself and her family. Dua’a received a lot of praise and support from her family and customers. Designing
colorful patterns on blankets and quilts has motivated Dua’a to learn more about
the business world, but she has been facing some market and economic challenges
that have been coming her way in establishing her dream.
As a credible and reliable channel for boosting sales, Dua’a considers
Crafts Market as an effective tool to help her boost sales, become known among
local and international markets, and continue doing what she loves.
